For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Honda Prologue have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Ford Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

The Honda Prologue has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Honda Prologue achieved a “Good” rating - the highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Ford Mustang Mach-E has not been tested.

Both the Prologue and the Mustang Mach-E have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Ford With 33 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Honda higher than Ford.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Ford vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Honda fourth in overall reliability. Ford is ranked 13th.

For better traction, the Prologue has larger standard tires than the Mustang Mach-E (255/60R19 vs. 225/55R19). The Prologue Elite’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Mustang Mach-E (275/45R21 vs. 245/45R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Prologue Elite has standard 21-inch wheels. The Mustang Mach-E’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The Honda Prologue’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Ford Mustang Mach-E only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Prologue has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Prologue can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Prologue’s wheelbase is 4.3 inches longer than on the Mustang Mach-E (121.8 inches vs. 117.5 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Prologue is 2.6 inches wider in the front and 2.9 inches wider in the rear than on the Mustang Mach-E.

The Prologue Elite handles at .79 G’s, while the Mustang Mach-E pulls only .77 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Prologue Elite executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Mustang Mach-E (27.1 seconds @ .64 average G’s vs. 28 seconds @ .62 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Prologue has a 2.3 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Mustang Mach-E (8.1 vs. 5.8 inches), allowing the Prologue to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Prologue has 10.6 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Mustang Mach-E (111.7 vs. 101.1).

The Prologue has .7 inches more front headroom, 2.2 inches more front hip room, 1.8 inches more front shoulder room, 1.3 inches more rear legroom, 1.2 inches more rear hip room and 1.7 inches more rear shoulder room than the Mustang Mach-E.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Prologue. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Prologue Touring/Elite’s liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The Prologue has a 1500 lbs. towing capacity. The Mustang Mach-E has no towing capacity.

The Prologue Elite has a standard heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction, infotainment and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Prologue’s standard Push Button Start and Smart Entry allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Intelligent Access standard on the Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a sensor on the cargo door. Intelligent Access is not available on the Mustang Mach-E Premium/GT/Rally.

The Prologue Touring/Elite’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Mustang Mach-E has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Prologue Elite has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
