Honda’s powertrain warranty covers the Prologue 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Acura covers the ZDX. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the ZDX ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.
There are almost 4 times as many Honda dealers as there are Acura dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Prologue’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Honda vehicles are better in initial quality than Acura vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Honda above average in initial quality. With 12 more problems per 100 vehicles, Acura is rated lower.
J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Acura With 10 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Honda higher than Acura.
From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Acura vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Honda fourth in overall reliability. Acura is ranked fifth.

The Prologue Elite handles at .79 G’s, while the ZDX A-Spec 4x4 pulls only .78 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.
For greater off-road capability the Prologue has a 1.1 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the ZDX (8.1 vs. 7 inches), allowing the Prologue to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.
Chassis
The Honda Prologue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 800 pounds less than the Acura ZDX.
The Prologue is 5.7 inches shorter than the ZDX, making the Prologue easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
Passenger Space

Ergonomics
The Prologue Touring/Elite’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The ZDX has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
